Just walked home via the canal, from Frog Island to Aylestone Meadows. It was a lovely sunny day, seems slightly overcast now. I thought I should make the most of it before it rains again. At one point I almost walked along the River Soar instead of the canal, but since the path was underwater I decided against it. I have made a
Google Map of my walk (cool!).
On my walk I saw:
The deer was the most exciting thing, though herons are always impressive. The deer was swimming in the canal, being chased by a flock of ducks. It managed to climb up the bank and get into Castle Park, so maybe there's more than one deer lurking in there...
(Apparently most people think it unlikely that I saw a deer... so what was it?)
Apart from my walk, I haven't done much that's incredibly exciting. I did go to Peterborough yesterday, for a work thing, but didn't get to see much of the city. Nice and easy to get there from Leicester though. Hooray!
