Well it's been a while... I had a pretty fun birthday. Got quite a few presents, including the ridiculous
Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard, which is actually a lot more useful than I thought it would be! I like the media display so it displays which song I'm playing in the little screen, and the readout of how my CPU/RAM usage is doing. I also received a
Laser mouse, which is nice but maybe a bit heavy. You can't have everything, I suppose! Also a few CDs, DVDs and the like.
I had a retro gaming party for my birthday, where lots of people came round and we played on the Megadrive, PS1, A1200, Spectrum and PS2 (ok so maybe that's not exactly retro but it's part of the last generation now, isn't it?). Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Hopefully next time we'll get the webcam and microphone to work at the same time so we can talk to
James better!
Interesting that
Stargate SG-1 has
finally been cancelled. It's weird, I used to be such a big fan, but lately I've been wishing it could just, well, end. Some things go on too long. If they ended sooner they'd end on a high, but no. And to think great things like
Firefly got cancelled so early on when they were clearly brilliant..! Ah well. I may have to leave all my
Stargate mailing lists before I get too annoyed with ridiculous campaigns to bring the show back. I mean, it's not exactly proper
Stargate now, is it? It has so many
Farscape characters in it! In the words of Jack O'Neill, 'For crying out loud'.
And I think that someone who created a
Christoper Judge website that was once Scifi.com's 'cool pick' should be allowed to hold such opinions. It's not like I wasn't obsessed with it once. But just let it die in peace. Don't get all silly about it. *sigh*
The funniest thing about it is that being put on opposite
Monk was one of the things that caused falling ratings and
SG-1's subsequent cancellation. I know I'd rather watch
Monk than
SG-1... It's great! Ah well.
