Just a quick post to say 'Happy Christmas' to everyone! Oh, and saw
Avatar last night - amazing stuff! Ok, so it's predictable, and kind of is 'Dances with Wolves', but it's really well done. And in 3D, well... wow... The new
Phoenix is a lovely cinema, too. Will definitely go there again. :)
Hope you all have lots of Christmas fun!
And yes, I did buy
Killing in the Name. Woo, Christmas No. 1!
Seems like it has been a busy week, and it won't really calm down until Christmas. I have loads of stuff to do at work before my Christmas holiday... Aargh..! I have been working hard trying to get a project done at work - getting our data onto the
Heritage Gateway. At the moment we're on the test server, just ironing out the last few details, then we'll notify
English Heritage and 'go live'. It looks really good, though it's only about a third of the data. It's going to take me years to get it all on there!
Don't remember doing anything terribly exciting for a while. It was
Ali's birthday, so we went out for Chinese food. I visited Southend last weekend - my Dad's been off work with a poorly leg (he had a small operation and it's not healing properly) and my Nan was taken into hospital while we were there. I think she's ok, though it's made her more confused than she had been for a while. Hopefully if they fix the infection her brain'll get less confused again.
Hmm, what else. I'm playing bass in a carol service tomorrow, and also 'leading' in the carol service on 20th (scary!). I expect it'll be fine. To be honest I don't really lead it much, what with playing a bass guitar. And I can't even sing at the moment. I still have the remnants of a cold and it's really annoying me that I can't sing. I was playing
Rock Band a bit today and I wanted to sing, but I can't... Booo!
Just got a bit distracted setting myself up on the
Rock Band website. Interesting...
Should probably go and do something, then. Need to sort out Christmas presents and write cards and stuff. D'oh!
