The disasters in the previous blog entry, you will be pleased to hear, are now averted! Or rendered disasters no more, at the very least. We re-dyed the settee so it's fairly consistently purple. And I finished ripping John's CDs onto his PC whilst watching Jools Holland at New Year. Hooray!
I seem to have been pretty busy so far this year. There's loads to do at work, and lots of church things to do. We started a bakery theme at the kids' club I help with,
Hullabaloo, so I made some props and had to organise new songs. Also, last weekend we went to a
Scripture Union Training Weekend, which was good fun though tiring for the old brain.
It was Rob's birthday on Wednesday - he's 34! I'll be 30 this year, that's a bit scary. People keep having babies, we'll have been married 5 years this year and we haven't had one yet. People are beginning to talk. It's a big thing, though, isn't it? Once you have a baby you have child to look after for the rest of your life. Okay, so after 20 years they'll be largely independent, but there's still a life in the world you have to worry about. Hum.
Rob bought an iPod Touch with his birthday and Christmas money, so he's been messing about with that a lot. It is quite fun but not so good for playing music on. I need more storage than a Touch can provide, anyway, so I guess I'll be sticking with the iPod Classic for a while yet. :) I found this brilliant program called
Tooble that lets you download YouTube videos onto your iPod - cool! Hours of fun. We bought
Cucusoft's converter program as well, which lets you rip your DVDs into files that can be played on iPods. It's really good, gets through copy protection, lets you have subtitles (great for anime) and it's easy and fast. Brilliant!
We acquired a few new PS3 games what with Christmas and Rob's birthday - he's downstairs playing
Little Big Planet at the moment. What an amazing game! It's so well put together. I think Rob's making his own moon at the moment, who knows what that'll turn out like...
