Well it's been a while again. In the time since I last blogged I've tried
Guild Wars, and found it isn't all that interesting, and played quite a lot of
Tomb Raider: Legend on the X-Box 360. I'm about 45% through or something. I'm quite enjoying it. I had this realisation that I never complete games any more, I hit a little snag and give up, so I'm going to try and finish this. Online gaming has made me persevere a lot less than I used to. I mean, online gaming isn't really about split second reactions, there's a lot of lag time built in there so you don't constantly die. If you know what I mean.
Work's been as busy as always, but I've had time to do a few more interesting things like put WW2 airfields on the record. There were a lot in Leicestershire & Rutland, as well as ones involved in the creation of the jet engine and Auster aeroplanes. I even found 2 Cold War missile sites to put on. Not exactly what some people expect on a record that's primarily 'proper archaeology', but it's a Historic Environment Record now, and airfields are part of history. And people have proposed development on a couple lately, so they ought to be on the record in order to protect what's left. (The HER is the main tool in determining whether or not there's something historically interesting on a site.)
I'm not sure if I'm making sense, it's getting late. I had a bath and I was hoping my hair would dry a bit before I went to bed. Maybe I ought to buy a hairdryer. I don't like them though. Boo hoo.
Bye for now!
