Been ages since I last blogged, hasn't it? I started maternity leave on 12th December, seems odd not to be at work but I'm so exhausted and unable to move far that I'm glad I can hang around home now! Plus there have been family visits and Christmas things to do since I finished work, which has taken up lots of time. In a nice way.

We finished phase one of the baby room decorating, all papered, painted and carpeted now. Rob, John, Mum and Dad all joined in to do some of it, so a real team effort. I did a few bits, like painting shelves, doing some of the bottom edges, putting up a cork board, but I have been fairly useless. I feel like a giant blob creature now, hard to use the laptop since the keyboard part has to go so far away from me! Oh, and as well as doing the baby room stuff Rob put together a rather nice IKEA bookcase for the front room and we've moved the sofa bed down to the front room as well. John put a new IKEA cover on the sofa bed, so it's all coming together.

I think my brother John came up on 20th, he was very helpful and kept me company. 22nd December I was full term (37 weeks), though Bleeble still has 3 weeks from then to the due date. Was pretty horribly ill over Christmas - from the evening of the 23rd I kept being sick, couldn't keep anything down for 15 hours or so. Haven't been ill like that for a long time! So Mum and Dad's visit was delayed until Christmas Day. They did loads around the house and looked after me really well. Though Rob had been doing a good job with an unpleasant task. What with not sleeping much anyway and not eating much for several days I felt awful.

Christmas Day was fun, presents seemed to go ok. I bought Rob Skyrim so he's been playing that a lot. He bought me Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Not sure I'll finish it before the baby comes!

Boxing Day we had a scaled down Christmas dinner, which was nice. It was good having my family here. And Tuesday (I think!) we went to see Rob's parents. John went home in the evening.

Mum and Dad spent the rest of the week doing loads around the house, lots of proper cleaning and organising. Stuff I hadn't got round to and am now incapable of doing! Much appreciated.

29th December I was 38 weeks pregnant. The midwife came to see me, apparently my blood pressure's perfect and Bleeble's heartbeat is perfect, and he's in the right position. Just a matter of waiting, which is scary (not looking forward to labour!) and annoying since I hate not knowing when things could happen, or exactly what could happen when it does happen. If that makes sense!

Mum and Dad went back to Southend on New Year's Eve. Watched an hour or so of Jools Holland as per tradition. Someone at the back of our house had some extremely expensive New Year's fireworks.

I guess that's about it really. Have been trying to get various things done. Sorting out baby things (mainly doing laundry and sorting through what we've been given/have bought), finished knitting a panda, have been working on a box for Jonas's Christmas present (I know it's late).

It's quite possible that next time I blog I'll have a baby, since it takes me so long between posts...
