Lots of things happened this month, I was finding it hard to blog since I had more and more things to blog about! I've probably forgotten at least some of the things now though, so perhaps it will be okay...

First of all it was the Hullabaloo summer club, which our church runs. We took the week off (Rob and I) to help out. It was pretty good fun, though I wasn't in the best of moods. It was good to do stuff with the kids though, more fun than I would have been having otherwise! We were on a spaceship called the 'Millennium Parrot', and Ali was Captain Smirk and Rob was Lieutenant Ewok. It was odd. Aliens had come to Earth and were trying to learn about the 'Miracle Maker' Jesus, at first because they needed someone to create fuel so they could get home, and then just because they were interested. Hmm! Tenuous but good fun.

During that week it was my 28th birthday, though we didn't do a lot to celebrate. We had cakes and party things at homegroup, so that was nice. And I received some presents (woo!). The other thing we did all week (the summer club was just in the mornings) was decorate. I'm sitting in an almost completely redecorated back bedroom (where our computers live). All we need to do is repaint the tiles round the fireplace and we're done! We've been meaning to decorate since we moved, 2 years ago. Definitely looks better than it did before we decorated. Hooray!

What else have we done... I suppose the main things we did were this weekend. John came to visit Thursday evening for the weekend, so I took Friday off work and we did some stuff Friday (boring stuff like shopping), then watched the first episode of the new series of the I.T. Crowd in the evening and ate takeaway pizza. Yum. The episode was good and so was the pizza (and the company), so couldn't have worked out much better.

Saturday we had a belated birthday gathering. We hooked up a PS2 to a projector and did big-screen gaming. Worked out pretty well I think. We had jacket potatoes for dinner (my favourite) and quite a few friends turned up. I think people enjoyed it. I did and it was my birthday party, so... :)

Sunday we went to church and then watched the Turkish Grand Prix. John was happy when Hamilton's tyre exploded, he really doesn't like Hamilton! Not that I'm a big fan, but hey. I might be once he's been around a bit longer!

And today we went to the National Forest Wood Fair with John and Rachel. It wasn't the most exciting thing ever but it was a fun enough way to spend a few hours. We saw lots of wood related crafts and bought a few bits. And ate lamb based foods for lunch. And cake.

But now John has gone back to Essex. Sad. Though Mum and Dad will be visiting this weekend - busy time for family guests at the moment!
