Drat, my new computer still has a dislike of internet explorer. It crashed part way through my blog entry. But now I am foiling its evil plans by using wordpad. Yes, mighty wordpad. This is because I haven't gotten around to installing Works on the PC yet - didn't get Office, it costs too much. It did only come yesterday though, so it's not like I'm REALLY lazy. And I've done gardening and things today, I haven't been sitting around doing nothing. Though it is very hot, so I would have been within my rights to sit around doing nothing. Probably.
We seem to have fixed the major instability though. It didn't like it much when you did things like move the mouse around a lot or play MP3's (well aac's if I'm pedantic). It turns out that the software Biostar provide for use with their IDEQ small form factor PC's actually doesn't agree with them. There's this thing called systemcontrol.exe that runs in processes and basically massively increases the CPU usage. This causes it to mess up whatever else you're doing. The program controls the fan speed etc to keep the processor cool, but apparently it should have bios settings to do that without disrupting the processor. If the little thing overheats because that isn't true, I'll let you know. ;)
I really must clean out Hovis the hamster. Hot weather and hamster cages are not a good combination.
What I was saying, before I was so rudely interrupted by crashing iexplore, was that I feel a bit of a freak at the moment because I don't like football. I've never managed to watch a whole game, I just find it so boring. What annoys me about it all is that people are shocked by this and can't understand how anyone could NOT like football. Personally I really like Formula 1, but I know a lot of people find it boring. I don't walk around saying everyone should like it and being mean to people who don't watch it. Honestly...
Plus it annoys me that I actually set the HDD recorder to tape Neighbours on Friday, and I don't do that often (it seems terribly sad and pathetic), but forgot that football was on at 5 so Neighbours wouldn't be. Drat... It was the whole Kim wasn't Bree's father thing, if you watch it. Karl had just got the results of her DNA test. (Neighbours is so odd lately..!
The other thing I was doing before internet explorer crashed was thinking of things that have happened since I last blogged. Finding out about the marvellousness of Lordi was one of those things. For most people, anyway. I expect quite a lot of Finnish people already knew. (Is that right, Finnish?) I was quite interested to learn that they'd been added to the Download Festival. Bet that'll be fun!
I don't really have a lot to say. I'm installing World of Warcraft to see how pretty it looks. I have a graphics card that's only just come out and it seems very pretty - obviously not as pretty as the hugely expensive ones since it was only £150, but not half bad. I did cancel WoW, haven't been playing a lot really. I tried EVE but it's not really all that exciting. Especially if you're only logging on to play for a couple of minutes.
I should think about dinner, really. Bit hungry. Mmm.
