La la la, blog blog blog... look, I'm blogging, it was a bit of a gap though, wasn't it? Oh well. Let's see. 16th January. What have I done since then?
The most interesting thing to happen in the week following the 16th was my husband had his 30th birthday. It kind of makes me feel like I must be old to have married someone who's now 30. I did have a couple of months where he was 29 though. :) Gosh this is interesting, isn't it? I bet you're glad I blogged.
Anyway, what we did was I booked a pretty cheap B & B at Clowne, Derbyshire. Yes, I did do this because it was called Clowne. I wanted to go somewhere round there and the name kind of sprang out at me. Hehe. It was only after I'd booked it that I noticed the place was called the Van Dyk hotel. This is strange because one of the only things Rob would tell us he wanted for a present was a beard. And a Van Dyk is a sort of beard. Named after the painter. A short, pointed type of beard. A strange occurrence, no?
So we went there, had a freezing cold walk in Sherwood Forest - saw the Major Oak, which is pretty impressive - and generally had a nice time. Then we came back. We only stayed away Friday night.
On Monday 24th we went and bought our hamster, Hovis, a new cage. He'd chewed bits of the last one so it didn't work properly. Mostly he'd made the wheel not work, but he'd also been chewing from the window towards the door opening. Silly thing. And also he did this thing where he'd hang from the wire door at the top (the rest of it was see-through plastic) and chew the bars. His new cage is entirely wire so he can chew and climb wherever he likes. And he does. The first night all we could hear was him climbing up to the top and falling off, it was a bit painful listening to him... I suppose we did pick him because he was acting a bit bizarrely. :)
The rest of the week I was working hard because my boss was away. It was horribly busy and I had to make some horrible decisions. Also I deleted some very important files off of the server, by accident, so today was spent trying to get that sorted out. (Stupid, stupid me...)
I think that's about it. I feel a little bit sad that my CD's, that were posted a week ago, haven't arrived yet. Since Play.com send CD's separately, and I ordered three, it's strange that they haven't arrived. Unless they have and someone else in the flats took them... I really hope that isn't the case. Boo hoo...
I should probably go and look for some food.
Bye!
I have been mostly.... READING: stonehenge (bernard cornwell) / WATCHING: stargate (sky 1); stargate atlantis (sky 1); neighbours (bbc 1) / PLAYING: eve online / LISTENING: the flaming lips
I was thinking of maybe reorganising my web stuff. The domain name needs renewing for
my Chris Judge site, which I haven't updated in ages. I know people still go there because there has been a sudden resurgence in people e-mailing me thinking I'm Chris. (This is even after making an e-mail address that's "IamNotChris@". Honestly.) So I should probably keep it going.
I updated my Dad's website,
PopPopMan, because he's doing a thing at the Abbey Pumping Station in Leicester soon.
I was thinking maybe I should make use of the fieryfred domain I bought. My portal that never happened. If I had any free time I could do the photos of Leicester buildings project I've been thinking about for ages.
If we start an EverQuest guild I could make one for that, too.
So many things to do...
But look, I blogged again!
I have been mostly.... READING: all the hitch hikers books (douglas adams) / WATCHING: stargate (sky 1); stargate atlantis (sky 1); neighbours (bbc 1) / PLAYING: everquest 2 / LISTENING: how to dismantle an atomic bomb (U2)
You know what I miss? Web designing.
Didn't go to work today. Felt really hot and rubbish. Mostly feel normalish now apart from my face, which feels hot still. Oh well.
Thought a blog was in order. I keep thinking I should do more online again, although I do have less time now. The internet was good when I wasn't married and had loads of time to waste. Or fill. Or something. But now I always have things to do, even if a lot of time is spent playing EverQuest II. :)
I think
Ali covered the whole Christmas thing, though I could mention a few of the things I acquired as a result of the season. These items included: a tiffany-esque frog lamp, the new U2 album, a guitar tuning device, the Star Wars trilogy, a yummy chocolate shell filled with various chocolate sea-related creatures, a DAB digital radio (oooh, the future!!!), and Red Dwarf series V with the Starbug model.
Not much has happened in the world of work, although I still have my job, so that's good. No news of what'll happen after the end of March, unfortunately.
I will leave this now, but I will concur with others who have said that blogging more often would be a good new year's resolution... Bye!
